Hells Gate – 100 Years of Cooperation on the Fraser River

In 1913 a railway blast sent hundreds of tons of rock into the Fraser River, blocking the path of thousands of returning salmon.

This commemoration ceremony marks 100 Years of cooperation between the Canadian Government, the US Government, First Nations and US Tribes working together to help Wild Salmon make it past Hell’s Gate on the Fraser River to their traditional spawning grounds.
